The market has opened marginally lower ahead
of expiry of January derivative contracts. The 30-share BSE Sensex fell 5.68
points to 24486.71 and the 50-share NSE Nifty declined 3.45 points to
7434.30.
ICICI
Bank, GAIL, Lupin, Adani Ports, NTPC, Power Grid Corporation, Cairn India and
Vedanta were early gainers while losers were HDFC, Bharti Airtel, Maruti
Suzuki, L&T, Sun Pharma, Asian Paints, Coal India and NTPC.
The Indian rupee
opened lower by 10 paise at 68.15 per dollar today against previous close
of 68.05.
Power Grid Corporation of India soared 2.2% to Rs.
141.50 on BSE. The company reported standalone net profit of Rs. 1613.12 crore,
registering growth of 31% yoy. The company’s revenue stood at Rs. 5406.58
crore, clocking 24.19% yoy.
The scrip opened at Rs. 141.6 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 142.35 and Rs. 140.6 respectively. So far 2343636(NSE+BSE) shares were traded on the counter. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 72405.21 crore.
