The market continued to
see profit booking in morning trade after two-day rally. The Sensex fell 130.82
points to 26261.56 and the Nifty declined 31.20 points to 7970.75, dragged by
banking & financials, capital goods and metals stocks.
On the other hand, the
BSE Healthcare index spurted 1.4 percent at 17,894 and the Oil & Gas index
has advanced over 0.5 percent at 8,907.
Vedanta is the top loser in Nity-50, down
almost 3 percent at Rs. 93.55. BHEL and Bharti Airtel slipped over 2 percent
each at Rs. 229 and Rs. 355, respectively.
Tata Steel and Tata Motors have tumbled nearly
2 percent each at Rs. 224 and Rs. 334, respectively.
Infosys, Bajaj Auto, HDFC, HDFC Bank and
Hindalco are the other notable losers.
