Today Market BSE Sensex is trading at 26,952 up 352 ,Nifty is trading at 8,159 up 101 points.

The  BSE Sensex is trading at 26,952 up 352 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8,159 up 101 points.

The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 1.48% at 10,066, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 1.63% at 10,821. Some buying activity is seen in banking, capital goods, pharma and IT sectors, while consumer durable sector is showing weakness on BSE. ICICI Bank, Tata Motors, Cipla, Tata Power and Axis Bank are among the gainers,

whereas Titan, Hero Motocorp, Shriram City Union Finance and Amara Raja Batteries are losing sheen on BSE. Multiple factors are playing out in the market and currency is one of them.

 The rupee breached the 64 mark against the US dollar adding to pressure in the market.

Today Market Sensex, Nifty gain ahead of F&O expiry, Rail Budget

The market is spearing ahead of the Rail Budget and February F&O expiry tomorrow.

The Sensex is up 180.06 points or 0.6 percent at 29184.72 and the Nifty is up 52.40 points or 0.6 percent at 8814.50.

About 1286 shares have advanced, 950 shares declined, and 182 shares are unchanged. HDFC, Infosys, ONGC, Bharti AIrtel and M&M are top gainers in the Sensex. Among the losers are Dr Reddy's Labs, Bajaj Auto, Hero MotoCorp, GAIL and Sun Pharma. Global cues are supportive with Asian equities mostly higher reacting to HSBC Flash PMI that indicated a growth for the first time in three months.
