Stock Market News: Century Plyboards slumps 4%

The Sensex is down 19.13 points  at 25753.40, and the Nifty up 2.10 points  at 7889.90.

NTPC stock was up by 25 at Rs. 143. The company has announced that consequent upon testing and commissioning, 200 MW capacity (4X50 MW) of NP Kunta Ultra Mega Solar Power Project Stage-I at Anantapuram is declared on commercial operation w.e.f. 00:00 Hrs of May 09, 2016.

Century Plyboards (India) stock was lower by 4% at Rs. 175. The company reported standalone net profit of Rs.40.52 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2016, registering decline of 15.54% yoy and 2.59% qoq.

INDIAN STOCK STARTED WITH TEPID NOTE

Day after Diwali, the market has opened on a tepid note. The Sensex has opened at 25647.03, down 219.92 points or 0.8 percent and the Nifty is at 7762.40, down 66 points or 0.8 percent.

ADVERTISING Bharti Airtel, ONGC, ITC, Lupin and Vedanta are top laggards in the Sensex.

Sun Pharma, Coal India, Axis Bank, Tata Motors and L&T are top gainers in the Sensex.

 The Indian rupee opened higher by 13 paise at 66.18 per dollar against Tuesday's close of 66.31.
