The BSE Sensex opened 167.48 points, or 0.63 per cent, down at
26,468.27, while Nifty 50 index opened 67.80 points, or 0.83 per cent,
down at 26,468.27. On the economy front, government to release May
consumer price inflation data and the wholesale price index (WPI) for
May on Tuesday.
The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 26,338 down 297 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8,087 down 83 points.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down 0.73% at 11,293, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading down 0.72% at 11,282.
Dr.Reddy's, Lupin, Cipla, Coal India and Sun Pharma are among the gainers, whereas ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Tata Motors, SBI and Tata Steel are losing sheen on BSE.
Some buying activity is seen in realty, banking, auto, banking, capital goods, finance, telecom and FMCG sectors, while pharma is showing weakness on BSE.
